Kazakhstan called the countries of Central Asia to the fair distribution of water
Uzbekistan, Tashkent - AN Podrobno.uz. The Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbaev called the leaders of the water management departments of Central Asia to the fair distribution of water resources in the conditions of climatic challenges.
Speaking at a meeting of the Interstate Coordination Water Foreign Commission (MKVK), he noted that the current growing season takes place in extremely stressful conditions, and the predicted climate and low water deterioration in the coming years requires coordinated actions and strict observance of the achieved agreements.
According to Bozumbaev, the volume of the Shardarinsky reservoir has already dropped below the average -year -old values, which puses a threat to water supply in the lower reaches. He emphasized that the decisions of the MKVK are not fully executed, which complicates the regulation of water regimes, and urged to move from discussions to specific measures, while maintaining the spirit of trust and understanding.
As part of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister held bilateral meetings with the heads of the water management departments of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The parties discussed the use of approved limits and operating modes of reservoirs in the pools of the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers, as well as outlined a plan for preparing for the next growing season.
Recall that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will send about 600 million cubic meters of water to Kazakhstan to cover a deficit caused by a low -water year and abnormal heat. Bozumbaev also spoke about this.
