In Uzbekistan, a program for the development of irrigation and rational use of water was approved
Uzbekistan, Tashkent - AN Podrobno.uz. In Uzbekistan, a program for managing water resources and the development of the irrigation sector was approved for 2025–2028. The document provides for a large -scale reconstruction of irrigation networks, a reduction in area with a low level of water supply and the introduction of alternative energy sources at pumping stations.
According to the Presidential Decree of August 15, 2025, in the next three years it is planned to reconstruct 2.5 kilometers of irrigation networks. For this, at least 1.3 trillion soums will be allocated from the state budget annually, and 300 million dollars of funds of international financial institutions will also be mastered.
Special attention is paid to reducing the dependence of farmers on lack of water. The area of irrigated lands with a low level of water supply will decrease from 424 thousand hectares to 276 thousand hectares.
In parallel, until the end of 2025, it is planned to install solar panels and energy -saving equipment at 15 pumping stations.
In addition, the composition of the Republican Water Council was approved, which will be coordinated by rational management, efficient use and protection of water resources.
Recall that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will send about 600 million cubic meters of water to Kazakhstan to cover a deficit caused by a low -water year and abnormal heat.
